What's the plot?

Romantic fantasy comedy written and directed by Woody Allen, ‘Midnight in Paris’ follows a group of Americans visiting the French capital.

Screenwriter Gil (Owen Wilson) is there to finish off his difficult first novel, accompanied by fiancée Inez (Rachel McAdams) and less-than-enthusiastic parents.

When troubled Gil finds he can be magically transported to past Parisian eras when the clock strikes twelve, ‘Midnight in Paris’ takes a journey through time where Gil meets epoch-defining figures who help lift his writer’s block and find new romance.

This is a lovely, enjoyable, feel good film, perfect for a dreary, dark day/night, to cheer you up. Owen Wilson's character is easy to relate to and he makes you want to hop on the Eurostar to Paris.

What a load of self-indulgent nonsense.
Woody Allen, you should be ashamed of yourself.

To be honest it is not the kind of movie I would watch by myself or choose. But my friends wanted to watch it so I went with them. It was really good, and now I talk about it to all my friends ! Really you should go!
The funny thing: when they spoke french at one moment I was the only one to laugh because I understood (I am french) !
